The David: This made in the USA, quality triple drum carder (tri-carder) comes fully assembled and is made out of solid, unfinished hardwood.

The overall size is 15" long (not including the 10" pull out wool tray), 17" wide and 10" high. The main drum (swift) is 8.5" wide and 8" in diameter, the other two drums are 8.5" wide and 2.5" in diameter.

The swift axle and bottom licker axle run on sealed ball bearings. The top licker-in runs on an eccentric bushing to allow for adjusting. It creates a batt size of 8" x 22", and is ideal for most types of fibers. The advantage of the triple drum carder is that it takes only half as much turning to produce the same quality batt.

Available Standard 72/90 TPI or Fine 90/120 TPI - the smaller number indicates the wire tpi on the licker-in drums while the larger numbers indicate the tpi for the main (swift) drum.

The David tri-carder is virtually adjustment free and is made from solid hardwood - not particle board. It also comes with attached clamps so that it can be secured to your work table if required.
