Mirrix Tapestry Looms
Mirrix tapestry and bead looms are available at Shuttleworks. We have 8, 12, 16, 22, 32 and 38 inch looms in our inventory as well as stands and treadle kits.

Mirrix bead and tapestry looms are designed to be as functional as they are beautiful. All looms are equipped with fold-out legs, infinite warp tensioning, plus a How to Warp your Mirrix Loom DVD. The larger Mirrix looms (12 inch wide and up) include four warping coils and a shedding device - these looms can be used for both tapestry and bead weaving. The 8-inch loom comes with a single coil for warp spacing but not the shedding device as this loom is intended for bead weaving only.

8, 12, 14, 18 dent warp coils are included with all looms, with the exception of the 8-inch loom that comes with a single 14 dent coil.

For tapestry weaving, the coils that come with the loom are all you should ever need, unless you do very fine weaving requiring a finer.coil (i.e., 20 or 22 dent).

Other available options include:

  • 20 and 22 dent coils
  • Texsolv heddles
  • bottom coil kits for beaders
  • loom stand
  • treadle kit for hands-free shedding - can be used with or without the loom stand
  • loom extender for 12 and 16 inch loom
  • special warping kit - includes Texsolv cord, four attachment pegs and a warping bar. The warping kit is used to warp the loom in a single plane and intended for bead weavers who want shorter warps or prefer not to have the warp wrapped continuously around the loom - single plane weaving also provides easy access to the back of the warp.

Bead type and coil size:

  • cylinder beads -18 dent coil
  • 15/0 beads - 20 dent coil
  • 11/0 beads - 14 dent coil
  • 8/0 beads - 8 dent
  • 6/0 beads - 12 dent (use every other dent)
  • cubes 4mm - 14 dent (use every other dent)
  • small triangle beads - 14 dent

Treadle kit:

The treadle kit snaps on instantly. It is independent of the stand and connects directly to your loom's treadling device. Since this is accomplished through a cable assembly, the treadle can be placed in a position that is comfortable for you. You don't need the stand to use the treadles. However, combined with the floor stand, this combination will turn your Mirrix portable loom into a floor loom but moments later you can turn it back into a portable loom.

Loom stand:

Functional and simple, provides a broad range of adjustment to suit your particular working style. Whether you are standing or sitting, the convenient tray keeps your supplies within easy reach. It is five and a half feet tall and takes up about four square feet of floor space. When not in use it can folded for storage.
